Work in the morning, ski at lunch
Niseko Nomads is the only purpose-built digital-nomad coliving inside Niseko. Fibre Wi-Fi everywhere, a desk in every bedroom, and quiet lounge corners when you want to get out of your room. The lift line is a 12-minute drive — short enough to make a 90-minute lunchtime ski actually doable.
Most guests run an 'AM ski / PM work' schedule between November and March. A few keep standard hours and ski weekends only. Both work fine.
Why Niseko works for remote workers
Niseko has quietly become one of the better digital-nomad winter destinations on earth — and almost nobody knows. Japan has a working-friendly visa landscape, infrastructure is world-class, the time zone is workable for both Asia and US-evening teams, and the powder is genuinely the best in the world.
What was missing was a place to actually base yourself if you wanted to live and work here for the season. Hotels at $400/night don't work for two months. Airbnb monthlies are inconsistent on Wi-Fi and have zero community. Niseko Nomads exists to fill that gap.
Built for the working nomad
Everything you need to be productive while spending a winter on the mountain.
Fibre Wi-Fi throughout
Hard-wired-grade speeds across the houses. Tested for video calls, large file uploads, screen sharing.
Multiple workspots
Different vibes for different work — desk in your bedroom, big communal lounge table, quiet nook for client calls.
Time-zone-friendly
JST is GMT+9. Easy for APAC + Europe team meetings. US-evening teams overlap with your morning.
Power + ergonomics
Reliable power, monitors available in the workspaces, ergonomic seating in the heads-down areas.
Ski during the day, ship at night
Most Asia-based remote workers shift to a 'AM ski / PM work' schedule. Some stick to standard hours and ski weekends only. Both work.
Built-in social life
Nomading is lonely. The houses fix that — instant community of skiers, founders, designers, engineers, and writers.

Frequently asked questions
How fast is the internet really?
Fibre to the home — fast enough for high-quality video calls, multi-GB file transfers, and several people streaming at once. We test it monthly. If your work needs a specific test result, ask us before you apply and we'll run it.
Can I stay 90 days in Japan as a digital nomad?
Most Western countries get 90 days visa-free. Japan also launched a Digital Nomad Visa in 2024 for stays up to 6 months — see your country's eligibility. Niseko Nomads stays within both windows.
Is there a quiet space for video calls?
Yes — your bedroom has a proper desk and a door for door-closed privacy, plus there are headphone-friendly corners in the lounges if you want a change of scenery.
How long is the minimum stay?
One month minimum. Most guests stay 2–4 months across the Niseko ski season (December through March).
What's included in the monthly price?
Everything except your flights and food: furnished room, fibre Wi-Fi, electricity, water, heating, kitchen and bathroom supplies, optional weekly cleaning, car access, daily community ski trips, and access to all shared spaces.
How much does it cost?
From $2,000 USD per month for a shared room up to about $14,000 USD for a private master suite, depending on month and room type. Discounted 4-month season packages are available. First month rent + 1-month refundable security deposit is required to move in.
How fast is the Wi-Fi?
Fibre to the home with work-grade speeds — fast enough for video calls, large file transfers, streaming and gaming simultaneously. Desks in every bedroom plus quiet corners in the shared lounges.
Where exactly are the houses?
Kutchan, Hokkaido — at 2-2-58 Minami 4 Jo-Nishi. About a 12-minute drive to the Niseko United ski resorts (Hirafu, Hanazono, Niseko Village, Annupuri).
Do I need a car?
No — we provide car access for residents. Public transport and shuttle options also exist. Most guests use the house car for ski trips, supermarket runs, side trips to Otaru / Sapporo / hot springs.
How do I apply?
Use the Apply Now form. We review applications in 5–7 business days. We pre-vet every guest to keep the house community compatible — it's part of why people come back.
Can I bring a partner / friend?
Yes — couples and pairs of friends are welcome. Mention this in your application so we can match you with the right room type.
What payment methods are accepted?
Wise transfer, credit card (3% fee), Venmo, or Japanese yen cash on arrival.
What's the cancellation policy?
Specific terms are in the rental agreement. The 1-month security deposit is refundable. Reach out before applying if you have questions about your specific dates.
