When Hirafu is the right call
We're not anti-Hirafu — we use it as a base for nights out and food. But for sleeping for 30+ nights, the math is different.
1–7 night ski trips
Hirafu makes sense — walk to the lift, walk to dinner, walk home. For short trips, the convenience premium is worth it.
Single-night après-ski
Plenty of bars and restaurants. We drive in and back regularly.
If you need lift-walk distance
Some people genuinely don't want to drive. Hirafu fits that. For everyone else — Kutchan + a car wins.
